Hammerspace Gallery is in a unique position to present experimental work, conceptual art, as well as installation art because our operational costs are low and we have established a sustainable model. This freedom allows us to provide opportunities to emerging and mid-career artists. This type of space is critical to the health of Grand Rapid’s art eco system.

We are passionate about arts ability to create the supportive communities we all need. Hammerspace Gallery has partnered with organizations such as Maternal Wellness Center in order to connect art to life. We also offer artists opportunities and mentorship in our year long Artist Cohort program which is focused on supporting parent artists. These voices are vital to our communities - giving a voice to those who care for our future creates a more caring culture.

We believe artists and arts administrators should be paid for their time and contributions to the community at large. Your donation covers our low operational costs, helps support Hammerspace staff and offers us the ability to create paid opportunities for artists.
